My name is Tetiana Virovka and I am a librarian from Ukraine. I moved to Klaip\u0117da due to the war in my country. I worked in the Mykolaiv Regional Universal Scientific Library as the head of the department of scientific and methodological work.<\/p>\n
Among the issues that had to be adressed there were the issues of conducting research in the library field. Now I am an employee of the Information resources department of the Klaip\u0117da County Ieva Simonaityt\u0117 Public Library. After working in the library for several months, I won a scholarship funded by Lithuanian Council of Culture with a project \u201cInformation Requests of Ukrainian Citizens in Klaip\u0117da\u201d. In the course of studying the research topic was developed an online questionnaire on the platform of Google and others. It is supposed to identify the information requests of displaced persons and the degree to which they are satisfied by various institutions, including public libraries. I am grateful to the library administration and colleagues for their assistance and support in solving production issues.<\/p>\n
The scholarship<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n During the implementation of the scholarship, a sociological study “Information requests of Ukrainian citizens in Klaip\u0117da” will be organized.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It is planned to interview at least 200 respondents using an online questionnaire on the Google platform and organize a survey in the telegram channels “Ukrainians in Lithuania”, “Ukrainians in Klaip\u0117da”, as well as in the groups “Ukrainians in Lithuania”, “Ukrainians in Klaip\u0117da” in the social Facebook networks. In addition, using a printed version of the questionnaire, it is planned to conduct a survey of Ukrainian visitors at the Klaip\u0117da County Ieva Simonaityt\u0117 Public Library. In the course of studying the research topic, it is supposed to identify both the information needs of displaced persons and the degree to which they are satisfied by various institutions, including public libraries and libraries of universities or schools. The study will identify innovative library services that have been used by various categories of the displaced and develop a list of services that would meet the identified information needs of migrants. Information about the results of the study will be published on the library’s website, on social networks, and in the professional journal “tarp KNYG\u0172”.
