The two-year Artist Residencies project for literary translators and writers has come to a successful conclusion! During the event, six authors from Latvia, Estonia and Finland translated and wrote literary works at the International Writers and Translators Centre (TVRC) in Nida.<\/p>\n
This year, the Artist residencies competition was won by three artists – Tilo Eckardt, a writer from Finland, Dace Meiere, a translator, and Inga Pizane, a poet from Latvia.<\/p>\n
Throughout the project, the participants not only worked on their creative projects, but also got acquainted with the unique nature of the Curonian Spit, took part in cultural events and excursions, got acquainted with the region’s artistic communities and cultural institutions, and shared their experiences with the library’s event visitors. Their work, created or translated during the residency, is an important contribution to the world of literature. We hope that the project has contributed to the promotion of international literary cooperation and professional literature, inspired new ideas, and given readers new and inspiring works of literature!<\/p>\n
