Seven years ago, his photography exhibition “Nida – Postcards of Silence” started his journey through Lithuania. While Neringa was wearing the crown of the Lithuanian Capital of Culture, the poetry anthology “I Want to Return to Nida” compiled by J. Kelers was presented (the book was published by the public library of Neringa municipality Viktoras Miliūnas), and last year he was an invited guest of the festival “N žemė”.

Presenting his creative plans, Mr Keleras noted that during his residency in Nida he plans to work on his collection of poems “Šalia šalnõs” (Close to the cold), in which he plans to publish a cycle of haiku and poems written in 2005-2023 in and about Nida. During his stay in Nida, the writer also plans to continue working on a new book of lyric poetry, Intymu. Both a collection of poems and a book of lyric poetry are expected to be published later this year.

The aim of the scholarship is to encourage writers to create in Neringa, to develop cognitive-cultural exchanges, to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation between the Neringa Municipality and the International Centre for Translators and Writers, a branch of the Ievos Simonaitytė Public Library of Klaipėda County.

The Neringa Municipality Scholarship is awarded for a programme of creative activities carried out during the residency at the International Centre for Translators and Writers, consisting of creative works created, performed or otherwise publicly presented to the Neringa community.

The meeting of Mr Kellers, who is currently residing in Neringa, with the local community is scheduled for 18 April at 17:30 at the Neringa Municipality Viktoras Miliūnas Public Library, Pamario g. 53

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

The writer Julius Keleras has started his residency in Neringa, where he plans to implement his creative ideas.
