He studied in Latvia, Lithuania and Italy. She has been translating books since 1996 and has now translated around 500 works from Italian, Lithuanian, Spanish and Catalan. Among the Italian authors she has translated are Umberto Eco, Primo Levi, Alessandro Baricco, Curzio Malaparte, Italo Calvino, Paolo Giordano; Javier Mar\u00edas, Roberto Bola\u00f1o, Carlos Ruiz Zaf\u00f3n in Spanish and Jaume Cabr\u00e9 in Catalan. Recently, she has been translating mainly Lithuanian authors, including Kristina Sabaliauskait\u0117, Vidas Mork\u016bnas, Sigitas Parulskis, Undin\u0117 Radzevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117, Kotryna Zyl\u0117 and others. Dace is working hard during her residency, finishing translations that should have been in Latvian bookshops long ago.
