Aistis \u017dekevi\u010dius<\/strong>, poet and translator, participant of the Individual Creative Residency project, at the International Centre for Translators and Writers, under the Nida sky. Aistis will be working, resting and implementing his creative programme at the International Centre for Translators and Writers until the end of February, and this is how he introduces himself to the community of Klaip\u0117da and Neringa:<\/p>\n “I am Aistis, a poet, translator and PhD student in philosophy. My most vivid memory of Nida from my childhood is the “Raketa” trip, and in recent years I associate it most with the first warmer days of spring, when there are no queues in front of the cafes and the seaside ice cream vendors are slow to open their freezers – at least for me, it’s most fun in May. This time I come here because I want to experience what it is like to live in the Curonian Spit in the winter, I have to face a pile of unwritten and untranslated texts, and I am very much looking forward to letting new winds into my head and into the creative process, and for the next minute to letting myself do nothing at all.<\/em><\/p>\n
