During the last gala evening of theProzos krantas<\/a>Literary Festival, the winner of the small prose competition “To the Lighthouse<\/a>” – Ieva Sokolovait\u0117 – was announced.<\/p>\n The author, who represents the younger generation, has been recognised for her novel in the genre of ecological prose, which will be published in the literary and cultural almanac Baltija in 2025.<\/p>\n In addition to fiction, Ieva is interested in and writes about ecocriticism, ecolinguistics, and ecological awareness, combining her knowledge of natural sciences with her passion for culture. The text for the prose competition “To the Lighthouse” was born as my first, but successful, attempt to write ecological prose.<\/p>\n For her achievement, Ieva was awarded a 5-day residency at the International Centre for Translators and Writers in spring next year. This is a great opportunity to further develop your work and deepen your knowledge of literature and culture.
