The International Centre of Translators and Writers in Nida is the only institution of this kind in Lithuania. The centre provides extraordinary conditions for the national and foreign writers to live and create in a beautiful natural environment - in Nida. The main objective of the International Centre of Translators and Writers is to develop multilateral cultural, creative and cognitive exchanges in attempt to ensure that Lithuanian literature is engaged in them as a strong partner that deserves constant attention. For this purpose, the writers and translators from Lithuania and different countries of the world will be offered the opportunity to live and work in the International Centre of Translators and Writers in Nida from several weeks to several months, and to foster and expand international cultural experience, to improve communication skills, to prepare presentations of their creative works to the literary communities of this foreign country, to share experiences and to participate in various creative workshops, conferences and seminars. International Centre of Translators and Writers was opened in the first quarter of 2018, upon completion of major repairs of a former training centre, so that it could function throughout the year. Two houses offer nine single rooms with all conveniences, internet access and computers. One house contains a shared-use facility for group activities and cooking. Two rooms located on the ground floor of the other house share a kitchen installed in the semi-basement, and each room on the first floor is equipped with a kitchenette.
