Brief presentation of the project: Klaipėda County Ieva Simonaitytė Public Library (KLCPL) and the Baltic Studies Centre of the University of Warsaw have been implementing literary translation projects for a number of years now, fostering the dissemination of Polish and Lithuanian literature. To strengthen and expand the international cooperation, the Kitchen of Literary Translations project is implemented in the form of creative workshops at the International Centre for Translators and Writers, which is a division of the KLCPL based in Nida. The project activities will involve the collaboration between experienced and novice translators. The translated works of the Lithuanian poets known as “žemininkai”, who have left a particularly strong imprint in Lithuanian literature, will reach the lovers of poetry in Poland, and the translations of contemporary Polish poetry will be presented to the Lithuanian audience.
