This week, the winners of the Nordic Council of Ministers-funded Artist Residencies took part in an intensive two-day Cultural Programme at the International Translators’ Writers Centre. During the visit, the residents visited the Pranas Domšaitis Gallery, the Curonian Spit History Museum, the Preila Library, and took part in excursions to the Klaipėda Cultural Communication Centre and the Neringa Victoras Miliūnas Public Library. They got a closer look at the Klaipėda County Ievos Simonaitytė Public Library, and discussed creativity and the importance of international cooperation in its American Reading Room.
During the programme, the residents met with the Director of the Library, Dr. L. Juchnevič, and the Head of the International Centre for Translators and Writers, Ms. I. Lastauskaite, got to know the staff and artists of the Klaipėda region’s cultural field, shared experiences and exchanged ideas!
We would like to thank our friends – Klaipėda Culture Communication Centre, Pranas Domšaitis Gallery, Neringa Municipality Viktoras Miliūnas Public Library, Neringa Museums for their help and cooperation!
The successful development of the Artist Residencies project contributes to multilateral cultural and cognitive exchanges, and provides an opportunity for international cooperation between artists and their residency organisations.
