Neringa Municipality together with Klaipėda County Ieva Simonaitytė Public Library announces a scholarship competition for a writer residing at the International Centre for Translators and Writers.
The scholarship is granted to a writer for the creative activity carried during the residence period under the programme of the International Centre for Translators and Writers, which consists of creative works created, performed or otherwise publicly presented to the people of the Neringa community.
The amount of the scholarship is 1000 EUR and the type of scholarship is one-off (paid out at the same time).
Duration of the residence and requirements: The scholarship winner must be able to come to the International Centre for Translators and Writers for a residency of at least one month, for a period of his/her choice (from October 2025 to April 2026). The scholarship winner is responsible for his/her own accommodation. Discounted accommodation rates(TVRC Paid Services Price List) subject to conditions.
Place of residence – International Center for Translators and Writers (Skruzdynės str. 9, Neringa (Nida)).
Submission of applications and submission deadline: All interested parties are invited to submit free-form applications (volume – up to 2 pages). The application must be signed by the applicant. It is desirable that the applicant indicates in the application the period of planned residence (from – to). The application and accompanying documents may also be submitted in English if the developer is not a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania.
The application must be accompanied by the following documents, reflecting the applicant’s literary experience, the relationship of the themes of the applicant’s work to the Curonian Spit and the cultural identity and self of Lithuania Minor:
* CV, including description of creative work;
* Examples of works or extracts from them;
* A description, concept or plan concerning the creative idea planned to be implemented during the residence term (volume: up to two pages).

Evaluation of applications. The applications will be evaluated by expert commissions set up by the Klaipėda County Ievos Simonaitytė Public Library and the Mayor of Neringa Municipality.
Selection criteria. The scholarship competition is open to everyone, regardless of education and current activities. The following will be assessed:
* artistic and cultural value of the creative activity program for the Curonian Spit;
* relevance of the creative activity program, purposefulness of the idea;
* continuity and results of the creative activity program, expected dissemination;
* artistic and cultural value and relevance of previous creative activity, connections of creative themes with the Curonian Spit, cultural identity and identity of Lithuania Minor;
* Dissemination of previous creative activities.
