Klaipėda County Public I. Simonaitytė Library together with Neringa City Municipality announces a scholarship and residence competition
Creators applying for the scholarship and residence are to submit the following:
• A free-form application (volume: up to two pages), which would reflect the applicant’s literary experience, thematic connections of the works with the Curonian Spit, the historical ethnographic region of Lithuania Minor;
• Curriculum Vitae (CV);
• Examples of work (excerpts);
• A description or plan concerning the creative idea planned to be implemented during the residence term (volume: up to two pages).
• The amount of the scholarship with a 2-week stay at the International Centre for Writers and Translators (Address: Skruzdynės str. 9, Nida), which is a division of the Klaipėda County I. Simonaitytė Public Library, is EUR 600. The period of residence: 14 to 27 September 2020.
The free-form applications submitted shall be evaluated by a commission comprised of the representatives of the Klaipėda County I. Simonaitytė Public Library, the International Centre for Translators and Writers, Klaipėda Branch of the Lithuanian Writers’ Union, and Neringa City Municipality.
During the residence term, the selected candidate will have to create a short work of the literary genre on the Neringa Surrounded by Elements theme, thus contributing to the popularisation of the unique region of Neringa as a space for creative work, and to organise an event to present his/her work to the local community.
The deadline for submitting your free-form applications for the scholarship is 17 August of the current year.
