We encourage to take part in the „Prozos krantas“ small prose competition. The winner will be announced during the „Prozos krantas“ festival on 24 October. The winner will be awarded a 5-day residency at the International Translators and Writers Centre (ITWC) in Nida in spring 2026 and a prize of 400 euros.
The best works will be published in the annual almanac of literary culture “Baltija” in 2026.
COMPETITION REGULATIONS
1. Manuscripts should be between 2 and 6 pages in length, in Times New Roman font size 12. If the manuscript contains illustrations, it must be submitted exclusively in PDF format.
2. The manuscript must include the author’s pseudonym and the author’s name in the letter sent to the author. (The Commissioners will not know the author’s name when reading the work.)
3. Only new, previously unpublished works are accepted.
4. The theme of the competition can be interpreted freely.
5. An electronic version of the manuscript can be submitted by email to: sondrajone@gmail.com up to and including 1 October 2025.
6. By submitting a work to the Competition, the Contestant confirms that the intellectual property of the work belongs to him/her and will not infringe any third party’s proprietary and/or personal moral rights or any existing contract. The Contestant shall be liable for any claims of third parties for infringement of intellectual property.
7. The jury does not comment publicly on the manuscripts received. The evaluations of the works entered in the competition will not be made public, unless the jury members themselves wish to comment publicly and share their impressions during the closing evening of the festival.
The jury: writers, playwrights GABRIELĖ LABANAUSKAITĖ and SANDRA BERNOTAITĖ and literary scholar MARIJUS ŠIDLAUSKAS.
